My line is 6500 down and 600 up. Can anyone tell me the best settings for my client??
Now running Deluge 1.0.5:
Changed Maximum upload speed (Kib/s): from 50 to -1 and things are running smooth again. Not sure this is right though. I still feel that all my bandwidth is eaten by Deluge. And yes I've read the Slow Speed 1.0 vs 0.5 thread. Not that it makes it any more clear how we should adjust our settings. I seem to remember an auto-config tool earlier. Why take that away?

Ideal settings
Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex i386| AMD Athlon X64 3000+ | 3 GB RAM | 650 GB (3 WD HDDs) + 750 GB external (WD) |ATI X700 EXCALIBUR PRO (256 MB)|FF/3.0.5
Re: Ideal settings
if your upload speed is 600kbps, then 80% of that is 480kbps, which is 60KiBps.
So you could try capping your upload speed at 60 and seeing how that goes.

Re: Ideal settings
Thanks a lot man. Things are much better. But on the fastest torrent sites I still seem to max out my line. But if I understand you right I could try between the range from -1KiBs to 60 KiBs. I adjusted the settings like you said:
Hm, seems my download is spiking at 811,6 KiBs. Which seems a bit high with my 6500/600 line (got upgraded yesterday so I'm not familiar with the line yet).
