Deluge 1.0.3 won't open

I have been using Deluge 0.9.3 wih some success. I have now installed Deluge 1.0.3 and when I click the icon I get a flash DOS box which I think is blank and that is all.
How can I open this program and also how can I get it to recognize all the torrents I was downloading on my previous version of Deluge?
