Torrent list empty but upload and downloads in progress

Post by israuor »

Good morning!
Since the last recent update of my deluge server on ubuntu server 18.04 (deluge version Version: 2.1.1~dev7660+e87236514-202202072002~ubuntu18.04.1) I can't see any torrents or seeds in the list anymore.. neither on deluge-web.. deluge client from remote nor deluge-console. Uploads and Downlads are still working. restarting clients and daemon doesn't solve the problem. Hope I'm not the only one. D'oes anyone know a fix for that?

best regards,
jeps

Hi.
I experienced the same thing on 20.04
Had to change to version Deluge 2.0.5 to make things visible again.
I can see that there is no update available, hope it won't take too long.

Yeah, that's dev. versions for you.
No visible torrents in list and you are not able to add new downloads/torrents.
And Libtorrent Rasterbar version 1.1.12 (that I really don't understand).

Do you see any errors in the clients? What versions are your client and servers?

@jeps If you want a later libtorrent you can add a daily 1.2 PPA: https://code.launchpad.net/~libtorrent. ... 1.2-daily/

Another reason for torrents not showing is if there is another daemon user account so check the Prefs Daemon to see if another user has been added

In addition to Cas's good advice, then there's a bug too, never made ticket as never found reproducal-scenario, but anyway the torrent list becomes empty, despite upload/download, and at top-left(filter-section) it states x amount of torrents(correctly). I didn't check if was seen from console-UI or webui, and just saw in gtkui, and had to fiddle around and click around alot and few restarts for it to fix itself. Seen it around 2 times on windows during testing, over along time though, so very intermittent. Didn't see on Linux, though only rarely fire gtkui up there.

I'd myself nuke profile-dir, if possible, maybe keep 'states' if have to.

Not sure if related mind you, as did fix itself eventually.

I will try to sum it up:
No, no other user (daemon) account, all torrents is and was added under the same account.
When I added a new torrent the whole process seems to be completed:
- "open with Deluge" pop-up
- Deluge window with the add options pop-up.
But the torrent never gets added (no download, no torrent stored in my dedicated "torrent folder"), so I assume that one or more "Deluge status files" are kind of locked.

When I removed the "dev version", changed the repository and installed Deluge 2.0.5, then everything was back to normal.
(It was strange that I had to manually remove "deluge-common", it didn't get removed as part of the normal deluge removal)
Normal meaning, all torrents is visible again and it is possible to add torrents again.

My comments about the outdated Libtorrent was just a personal remark about the logic in having a dev version for testing - and then testing with such an old libtorrent.
Normally I wouldn't comment on bugs in dev versions (in this forum) but after 2 new dev version with the same behaviour I thought it would be prudent to do so.
Maybe the bug only shows in israuor and mine OS environment, but still ... ?
