Deluge GTK/WebUI connection drops

Post by shamael »

Hi all,

Since a couple of days the GTK client is no more responsive after a random moment. Not fully, I'm able to navigate in the windows but w/o answer (clicking something has not impact) nor update about the up/down speed (or the stats plugin). Only the connection manager is working and shows the daemon as connected. Connected but no more refreshed by the daemon is maybe the best definition. Restarting the daemon on the server is directly followed by a connection error on the GTK client so somehow the communication is working

The daemon with debug level doesn't shows anything I can pinpoint, and the GTK in debug mode is still login actions I do:

Code: Select all

[DEBUG ] 16:47:17 gtkui:322 sent: 2.2 MiB recv: 3.1 MiB
[DEBUG ] 16:47:17 gtkui:330 sent rate: 8.0 KiB/s recv rate: 8.7 KiB/s
[DEBUG ] 16:47:27 gtkui:322 sent: 2.3 MiB recv: 4.7 MiB
[DEBUG ] 16:47:27 gtkui:330 sent rate: 8.1 KiB/s recv rate: 164.1 KiB/s
[DEBUG ] 16:47:37 gtkui:322 sent: 2.4 MiB recv: 8.3 MiB
[DEBUG ] 16:47:37 gtkui:330 sent rate: 8.0 KiB/s recv rate: 370.8 KiB/s
[DEBUG ] 16:47:41 menubar:264 on_menuitem_preferences_activate
[DEBUG ] 16:47:41 pluginmanager:104 run_on_show_prefs
[DEBUG ] 16:47:41 gtkui:341 [ltConfig] Load preferences
[DEBUG ] 16:47:47 gtkui:322 sent: 2.5 MiB recv: 15.1 MiB
[DEBUG ] 16:47:47 gtkui:330 sent rate: 8.1 KiB/s recv rate: 696.6 KiB/s
[DEBUG ] 16:47:57 gtkui:322 sent: 2.5 MiB recv: 24.2 MiB
[DEBUG ] 16:47:57 gtkui:330 sent rate: 8.0 KiB/s recv rate: 938.2 KiB/s
[DEBUG ] 16:48:07 gtkui:322 sent: 2.6 MiB recv: 34.8 MiB
[DEBUG ] 16:48:07 gtkui:330 sent rate: 8.0 KiB/s recv rate: 1.1 MiB/s
The setup: Deluge 1.3.13/Libtorrent 1.0.9 on headless linux server connected by the GTK client installed on my Windows computer. Nothing has changed for months and no issue to raise up to now. I decided to upgrade to 1.3.14/1.0.11 scratching the profile except "state" folder to keep my torrent files. No change, exactly the same thing happened. Any idea?

PS:the daemon is still functional, I cannot see any activity interruption. Same for the stats plugin frozen when the issue happens but I can retrieve the data of the graphs when the GTK is relaunched

Update: disabling stats & totaltraffic plugin = GTK+webui connected for more than 1 hour. Not happy to remove it to be honest...And I keepd on't see the link :/. Especially for the previous setup prior upgrade rock stable. Maybe the number of torrent >600?

UPDATE: no change, freeze sometime directly but the torrent list is well loaded. I just started again with a new profile, same thing (plugin disabled)

ticket open for this purpose, update there http://dev.deluge-torrent.org/ticket/2995

to resume and after long investigation the number of torrents is the root cause of the whole problem, but it does not affect the daemon and its ability to serve leecher. Only the webui+GTK client connection (RPC?)

I experience the same problem.

I run Deluge in docker on unraid with the client on windows 10. I've found that that reducing the number of torrents solves it but I'd be interested in a better fix

I think the answer will be the next version of Deluge, the 2.0. So far this problem is not addressed and I'm still relying on a close look to total torrent number to avoid the issue. You may want to test the actual beta if you have some time http://forum.deluge-torrent.org/viewtop ... =8&t=54338
