YaRSS2 plugin won't load in Winodws Client

Post by cmeans »

The plugin shows in the Plugins list, but when I select it, the Info populates as "Not available", and does not show up in the Categories list when I click the check box.

There was no problem when I first installed this, but I've since had a secondary drive die and had to reinstall the Deluge thin client etc.

This is on Windows 7. The daemon is on a rPi2, and YaRRS2 plugin there is continuing to work.

I do have Python 2.7 installed on the Windows box, which matches the version of Python on the rPi. However, I didn't initially have Python on the Windows box when I first reinstalled the Deluge thin client.

Installing python has nothing to do with Deluge, it is bundled with Python: http://dev.deluge-torrent.org/wiki/Plug ... ingPlugins

Also, the default windows exe has python 2.6 with it. Make sure you download from the py27 subfolder and get the exe that specifically says python27 in it. You will need to run the uninstaller to get rid of the old one before upgrading.

Thanks. Yes, I've only got Python 2.7.10 installed on my Win7 box. It made no obvious difference with the Deluge thin client and the YaRSS2 plugin though. None of the behavior changed.

Deluge doesn't even know you have python installed...

OK. I misunderstood. I've now uninstalled the Deluge thin client that I had (wrong Python version) and have installed deluge-1.3.11-win32-py2.7-setup.

However, though I do now see Info populated for the YaRSS2 plugin, neither the Notifications nor YaRSS2 plugin will show up in the Categories list when enabled in the plugin list.

You will need to re-add them to your new windows client. The plugin needs installed for both sides. You can do it through the GUI or just drop the .egg files in APPDATA/deluge/plugins and restart the client.

C:/Users/[user]/AppData/Roaming/deluge/plugins

The Notifications plugin is built-in isn't it?

I have already tried reinstalling the YaRSS2 plugin from the plugins folder...It's listed there, it's the right py2.7 version, and have restarted the client. Makes no difference.

Having just managed to build libtorrent 1.0.6.0 and reboot the "server", the Deluge thin client is now behaving properly. I wouldn't have thought to attribut the problems to libtorrent...clearly my mistake/and shows a complete lack of understanding of how Deluge works. My problems with YaRSS2 seem to be resolved.

Thanks for your help.

More likely it was the simple restarting it that fixed it. I have noticed a couple times when enabling and disabling plugins a lot sometimes they start acting funny until it is restarted.
