0.5.5 Released

Postby markybob on Sun Sep 09, 2007 7:07 am

0.5.5 has been released. Here's a quick changelog:
* Editing a torrent's tracker list is now persistent between sessions
* Persistence between sessions for Speed Limiter, Web Seed and Desired Ratio
plugins
* New wizard to aid first-time users with configuration
* Reorderable tabs and remember order (with exception of details tab)
* Fix losing data and having to re-download parts
* Fix password lock showing when main window is not hidden
* Get rid of the plugin manager and integrate it into preferences
* New Move torrent plugin - takes over for "move completed downloads" feature
and provides a "Move Torrent" option when right-clicking on a torrent
* Save column widths
* Queue order after restart fixes.
* Use payload instead of including protocol overhead to ease user confusion
of seeding torrents "downloading"
* New Web Seed plugin for adding URLs to torrents for http seeding
* Add FAST-extension (http://www.bittorrent.org/fast_extensions.html)
http://download.deluge-torrent.org/

Did you forget to change the version number? Mine still says 0.5.4.1 and the version checker keeps telling me there is a new version.

@scrapmetal: after update via deb-package mine says 0.5.5.

@markybob: thanks again for developing deluge so fast and useful!

edit: it's 0.5.5, not 0.5.5.1 as i wrote earlier!

scrapmetal,
they're all made from the same source, which means if one is right, all are right. you're probably having conflicting installs. did you install from source earlier? svn? dpkg --purge deluge-torrent and make uninstall inside the source and then try installing again. in the end, dpkg -l deluge-torrent should report "0.5.5-1" and "0.5.5" will show in the help->about window

I had the same problem, try this (it worked for me):
  • Uninstall previous Deluge Torrent.
  • Re-download Install from Deluge-Torrent
  • Restart computer
  • Install Deluge
  • Restart computer
  • Run Deluge.
It should work, you have to restart it after uninstalling and installing it because, for me at least, it clears the temp folders and cache on your os.

I have the same problem, and no amount of rebooting between uninstalling, installing and running seems to fix it... Back to trunk 5.4.1 for me :|

What did you run to uninstall? Have you tried purging the config files?
