0.5.5RC1 Released

Postby markybob on Mon Sep 03, 2007 10:02 am

0.5.5RC1, version number 0.5.4.1.95, has been released. Here are the changes since 0.5.4.1:
* The torrent's save-to location is now shown in the details tab
* Editing a torrent's tracker list is now persistent between sessions
* Persistence between sessions for Speed Limiter, Web Seed and Desired Ratio plugins
* New wizard to aid first-time users with configuration
* Reorderable tabs and remember order (with exception of details tab)
* Fix losing data and having to re-download parts
* Fix password lock showing when main window is not hidden
* Get rid of the plugin manager and integrate it into preferences
* New Move torrent plugin - takes over for "move completed downloads" feature and provides a "Move Torrent" option when right-clicking on a torrent
* Save column widths
* Queue order after restart fixes.
* Use payload instead of including protocol overhead to ease user confusion of seeding torrents "downloading"
* New Web Seed plugin for adding URLs to torrents for http seeding
* Add FAST-extension (http://www.bittorrent.org/fast_extensions.html)

Get it at http://download.deluge-torrent.org and let us know how it goes. Translators, please head over to Launchpad so that 0.5.5 final will have your languages updated. https://translations.launchpad.net/delu ... ots/deluge
Thanks and enjoy :)

we are starting to talk perfection here.
there are just a couple of minor gui things that annoy me
-the scrollbar in the details tab. there must be another way
-the extra space behind the column titles preventing making the colums as small as possible without hiding part of the title

wow! just a few others after my question on deluge starting in the tray it is implemented in the release candidate :shock:
it works very well and it's nice that it savs the column widths now and the queue's order is fixed after a restart!
just one question on the (well-done and very helpful) wizard: it limited my maximum number of active torrents to 5 although i've 1mb upload - is this necessary / does it make sense?

The values the wizard gives you are a rough guideline.. You are expected to experiment on your own to fine the best settings since everyones connection varies.
