0.5.4.1 Released

Suggestions and discussion of future versions

0.5.4.1 Released

Postby markybob » Fri Aug 10, 2007 10:44 pm

0.5.4.1 is significantly more stable than 0.5.4, so all users are encouraged to upgrade. Here are some of the changes in 0.5.4.1:
* Add "Open containing folder" and "Open File" to the torrent and file menu, respectively
* Load Blocklist plugin last and have it not lock up the interface during import
* Add full allocation to preferences for clarification
* Catch SIGINT, SIGHUP, SIGTERM and Gnome logoff to quit properly
* Add send local info to developers
* Fix up pieces, peers and files plugins
* UPnP fixes
* Add ExtraStats plugin
* FreeBSD full allocation fix
* Added per torrent max upload slots and max connections preferences
* A lot of other less visible improvements

Enjoy :) http://download.deluge-torrent.org/

Absolutely awesome. I also see you put in there that bit about full preallocation, that's great :)
I'm downloading as I write, I'll be sure to test it throughtly :)

Thanks again

What kind of change did you made in the 0.5.4.1 tarball? It has been re-rolled two times. The first one was because of a lot of files that wasn't supposed to be in and tweaked a bit in setup.py for debian. The second one, I am not sure. Somehow I lost the second tarball to compare with the third tarball. I need to know what kind of change for security reason in our ports tree, because the checksum has been changed. Thanks.

Before:
MD5 (deluge-0.5.4.1.tar.gz) = 80aeb297b519d42ef3a0ff2d3c2dbecb
SHA256 (deluge-0.5.4.1.tar.gz) = 954fe23378431d6ab2444361b76653babb5767aef28081e62c434d1f4ccfc2b5
SIZE (deluge-0.5.4.1.tar.gz) = 1480071

Now:
MD5 (deluge-0.5.4.1.tar.gz) = 36debac83b41f1697da6805e8cc79435
SHA256 (deluge-0.5.4.1.tar.gz) = 242ced6abeda90e93c70b03fe3b84bed5a85059e5fcbd3faec7ef0ac29d52c87
SIZE (deluge-0.5.4.1.tar.gz) = 1473118

all you need to do is check the md5sum by clicking on "calculate md5sum" on our download page. if your download is the same as our checksum, then you're ok. i honestly cant remember what happened that we needed to change the tar (way too much stuff is going on right now in life), but i assure you that our servers are secure and correct. i will commit to this, though, since i can see how this could be a problem: from this point on, if we need to reroll a tarball, there'll be a posting for it our on our news section of deluge-torrent.org. fair enough?

It will be awsome if you do this in the next time. Thanks!

The pieces plug-in is much (roughly 10⁵⁰ times :P) better, now it's not at all sluggish or lag-inducing.

I'd like to recommend reading Byte of Python to learn the basics, I found it pretty helpful when I started learning python (a month or so ago).
