this is by far the most silent release we've ever had...i'm taking that as a good sign that everything's working properly ;)

Er.. you should name the feisty release to a gutsy one, because feisty doesn't have libboost-date-time1.34.0
I found it on packages website, but the dependencies keep being asked for.. libc6, tzdata... Ideas?

err, sorry to burst your bubble.
another queue problem.
i just installed 0.5.3 and tried resuming my active downloads.
i have set my active limit at 3 but only one torrent is active although the two others' icons are green. they stay marked as either paused or queued. no amount of clicking will change their status to downloading.
------
while typing htis, some change happened, but it leads me to believe the problem is queue/checking related. i had to remove my active torrents limit and then pause all torrents but my targets for it to work.
i think a manual re-check option in the contextual menu is really the next order of priorities for deluge, guys.
-----
other element:
queue is not maintained on a re-open. i already tried 6 times, and every time, i get a different queue order. this used to work in 5.2.90
-----
last remark:
it seems speed has gone down a bit. with the same three torrents i was downloading, speed has been halved. might not be deluge-related but curious all the same
------
other than that, a clean efficient bit torrent client that has really become my favorite
OpenSuse 10.3 /kernel 2.6.22.13-default /AMD64/512Mib RAM/Nvidia FX5500/Deluge from OpenSuse RPM repository ( 2.5.8)
Ubuntu Gutsy /kernel 2.6.22.14-generic /P4/1Gib RAM/Nvidia FX5200/Deluge from Deluge web package ( 2.5.8 )

Hi, just wondering which if any of these packages would be compatible with Gusty.

I'd love to give the latest deluge a spin.

Cheers.

to confirm an earlier suspicion
0.5.3 is slower than 0.5.3RC1
i get twice the download speed from RC1
what can that be caused by?
furthermore, on re-open, queue order is maintained in RC1 but NOT in 0.5.3
please advise on that

For those having problems with queue order, just a couple of questions.
1) Do you have seeds set to queue at the bottom?
2) Do you have a max ratio set?
3) If yes to number one, do you have it set to load new torrents above completed ones?

Edit: also
4) Do any unfinished downloads also appear out of order?

As to the speed issue. I had this same problem. There is a new preference under Bandwidth for max upload slots which needs to be set appropriately in combination with upload speed for your configuration. For me on cable modem, 40KiB/s upload and 10 upload slots does the trick.

we dont require libboost-date-time1.34.0. at all. our control file says libboost-date-time-dev (>= 1.33.1) which feisty does have. are you mixing your feisty with gutsy stuff? seems like something's wrong on your box

No the control file in the deb say,
Code: Select all
Depends: libboost-date-time1.34.0 (>= 1.34.0~rc2-1), libboost-filesystem1.34.0 (>= 1.34.0~rc2-1), libboost-thread1.34.0 (>= 1.34.0~rc2-1), libc6 (>= 2.6-1), libgcc1 (>= 1:4.2-20070516), libssl0.9.8 (>= 0.9.8e-1), libstdc++6 (>= 4.2-20070516), zlib1g (>= 1:1.2.3.3.dfsg-1), python-support (>= 0.3.4), python (<< 2.6), python (>= 2.4) | python2.4, python-gtk2, python-glade2, python-xdg, python-notify, notification-daemon

Also if you force it to install the deluge will not start because it has been complied for a new version of lib's then the feisty have.
