PLEASE...Give Deluge a "FORCE START"

Post by biabia2470 »

So I found this...

http://forum.deluge-torrent.org/viewtop ... 185#p32385

AlienX2 is onto something. I seriously think a force start function should be added if possible. Utorrent has one why not Deluge? Please, please, please think about it, you would make my and many other users very happy.

Thank you, Bia-Bia :D :D

Think the problem is the wording "Auto managed" .. it isn't as direct as "Force start".

Feels like .. - hmm managed by what?

Wouldn't it be better to move it up a bit in the menu chain since it probably is a popular choice?

I actually like Deluge's method. I never knew what was meant by "force start" in other clients. I knew right away what auto managed meant because it is much more descriptive.

I agree with DUser. When i first used ut i was confused as to what "Force Start" actually did.
This is much more sensible.

Another solution is to queue up a download. It will start immediately but will be managed normally.

Unfortunately, it just doesn't work that way. If I select "auto manage" to FORCE START some extra torrents, some of the other torrents that were running will go into queued state so only the number of torrents = to what is set in Preferences are running.

auto manage [not equal to] force start

or at the least, it's not working.

By default, torrents are "auto managed", that is they follow the rules of your queue settings.
You need to unselect "auto managed", for it to automatically start (it may go from queued to paused, in which case you can just click resume).

No, what I am saying is the running torrents go from "downloading" to "queued".

yes, I misunderstood what you were saying.
I've edited the faq to clarify what "auto managed" does.
