possibility of client-server model?
I'm really enjoying programs like xmms2 that allow for a variety of clients that connect to a daemon, not to mention the fact that if X borks, the daemon continues chugging away. I think it would be cool to have deluge work like that, then it could work on headless servers as well. I realize there are cli solutions out there, but they don't seem to have some of the features like uPnP or uTorrent PEX or even proxy support, features that are progressing well in deluge. That's my two cents. Great work so far, I'm so glad I could ditch uTorrent+wine.

this IS actually something that I've been interested in for a while now, and as you mentioned, it would have several beneficial uses
implementing it is the problem, as it would mean a fair bit of work...
