0.5.9.0 UI Hangs, & Fast Resume fails (ID problems)

Post by Ux64 »

It seems that 0.5.9.0 version brought back some problems that we got rid of earlier.

UI seems to hang and doesn't update information. Also errors are reported continuously. I don't know what triggers it. But after a while UI is stuck. It doesn't update download status unless I pause / resume torrents or so. But downloads are clearly progressing, so it's UI / libtorrent communication problem.

Is anyone else experiencing the same symptoms?

Still using Ubuntu 64 bit version (Gutsy Gibbon) but I'll update new distribution in this weekend if I don't get anyreason not to upgrade.

Yes, the same platform, the same problem. Had to roll back to 0.5.8.9. But I am a stalwart follower of "if it aint broke dont fix it" motto, so no upgrade for me at least for a year.

;)

Problem that I reporetd might be peerlist plugin related. I think I had the problem repeated twice. When I check peers UI frequent updates stop. Restart helps. But that doesn't happen everytime. I don't know if it's related to torrent, some ip, dns problem. But something is causing clearly a problem that didn't happen only once.

I do have torrent peers plugin enabled so it could've been the cause, but there were other problems - plugins being disabled all by themselves, torrent order messed up... In short 0.5.9.0 behaved like a horrid buggy beta. 0.5.8.9 bugs are known and comparatively harmless, so I'd stick with it.

I've got all the symptoms, what Ux64 and lvm explain using the ubuntu amd64 deb package. the unique_id problem seems to fatally crash 0.5.9.0 deluge-torrent here, up to the point that I can't run it anymore.

This would be the title if I could send the .crash apport report:

Re: 0.5.9.0 Problems...

Post by Ux64 »

Actually I was going to start Deluge in morning before leaving to work. But it failed to start. I didn't have time to collect errors from terminal. But I'll do it today later. I think I know I can get around the problem, because I had a lot of problems with early versions. ;) But it's still a problem for many users.

It seems that fastresume files were causing the problem. When I deleted those (nothing else) deluge works again as it should have been working all the time. ;)

Btw. Could you check if your torrent creator is working?

I get similar symptoms after trying to delete a torrent on windows Vista x64, as are a couple of other people. More info in this thread: http://forum.deluge-torrent.org/viewtop ... =12&t=5665.

There is also another problem. Everytime when I add Torrent to deluge. It doesn't crash but it raises some kind of error because I get this error message.
