Synology DS416play problems

Post by ravenmoon »

Because the torrent sites I use require Deluge or RuTorrent, I tried installing them from synocommunity.com as both my main user (which is an admin) and as admin but in both cases, a shared folder that is only accessible to me and admin cannot be used as the download folder. It seems to want to act as regular standard user but then that folder becomes accessible to the few others who access the Synology and I don't want them to have access to downloads. Not sure what to do! Has anyone had this issue? Are there permissions I can change somewhere?

It entirely depends what user deluge is running under.

Changing the user might be "fun", synocommunity.com looks like yet another package manager, but I don't see any details for deluge package there.
Is the install procedure the same as when installing from Package Manager?
Did you get a log, when you installed deluge?
Can you get a shell/terminal through the disk manager?
Do you have docker already hacked on?
Do you still have only 1gb of ram on it?

Edit: This might not be the best place to get help, did you try asking people who packaged deluge on synocommunity?
