HTTPS Trackers

Post by asgaroth »

Hi All,

I've been having issues connecting to https trackers in Deluged 1.3.13 using SOCKS5 proxies. I've tried searching around to see if Deluge actually does support https/http trackers, however, all I can find are posts and bugs dating back to 2007 saying "wontfix" or, "https tracker connections are not supported".

Can someone confirm if deluged supports https:// type trackers in v1.3.13 please.

Much appreciated.
Cheers

Cas, thanks for the reply, I was looking at ticket 2149 and you mention at the bottom that the work around is to have the same proxy settings for peer, web seed, tracker and dht in the proxy settings tab.

I currently use a socks 5 proxy and all of those sections are set the same, its a socks 5 proxy with authentication. However, for some reason, https trackers cannot connect, the http/udp trackers all appear okay.

I have checked to https tracker, it has been verified working by other people hosting the tracker (private tracker).

Have you any other ideas I may have a look at trying to get it working?

Just on a side note, for my own sanity, what is the officially supported version of libtorrent with deluge 1.3.13?

I had a look at the libtorrent git repo and I see that 1.0.11 is out, and there is a 1.1.x branch too, I can see from previous emails that 1.1.x is not supported with deluge 1.3.13. I also see in the release notes that libtorrent 1.0.9 was release with deluge 1.3.13 on windows only, if we're running on linux can we run with a later version of libtorrent, or is v1.0.9 the only officially supported edition? Is it possible, for example, to run with 1.0.10 or 1.0.11, or is it only 1.0.9?
