I've been testing forced encryption on my DELUGE server. It's working pretty well. I'd love to get rid of my VM Seedbox. and dump my VPN service. What's the downfall of just relying on Encryption so my ISP (Comcast) doesn't complain?
BTW - I DL about 3TB of data a month. Usenet and Torrents THX
Do I REALLY need a VPN? Can't I just use forced encryption?
Re: Do I REALLY need a VPN? Can't I just use forced encryption?
Hi seanvree,
The encryption mainly avoid ISP traffic throttling and avoid telling him the exact files you're dealing with (if encryption set to forced/forced/full stream). A VPN fully hides what you're doing simulating a traffic on another IP outside of your country most of time. Let's say if any authority tracks leechers in your country the VPN or dedicated seedbox or both) is the way to go.

Thanks, that clears it up @Shamael, is it possible for my ISP to throttle my traffic if I'm connected to a VPN on my LAN via my seedbox?
