Changing File Location Issue

Post by Nokcihc »

I'm trying to change the location of my downloads manually after they've been downloading. After looking around online I saw that you could change the name and location in Deluge itself to avoid any seeding issues. So I changed the name of the file from within the Deluge client and then selected "Move Location." When I did I checked the new location and the old location. The file name had been changed, but there was still a file in the old location as well as one in the new location and both files were no longer working. They both have their file type listed as just "File," instead of being .mkv's like they were. I can't open them or do anything.

Does it just take time to move the files over(it was quite a large file) and I was expecting to to happen to quickly?

Scratch that last part about the file type changing to just "File." I realized that it was because I didn't add the .mkv to the end of the file and Deluge doesn't handle that automatically. But it is still showing in both places.

I use the "move storage" function every day to keep my torrents organized without issue. If the change is made on the same storage it's almost instant.
However I don't change the name as you did, and create a folder with the correct name instead.

Have you tried to right click the torrent and "force recheck"? (not the exact name, no interface I can check right now)

Be aware that "move storage" works but there's two issues. One is that the move is SLOW, 1gb will take an hour. The second is that all other actions will stop, no uploads and no downloads while the move is underway. I don't mind slow but stopping everything else is a killer.
