Proxy / VPN

Post by kid.had »

Hi,

My first time using Deluge. I've installed the latest version (Deluge 1.3.11) and went to configure my
Socks5 proxy settings. I have found that Deluge leaks the original IP even when using a Socks 4 proxy for ALL areas in Deluge that
you can use a proxy. The proxy I'm using is a premium service by a well know service.
I've tried also VPN (with proxy disabled) and this also leaks the IP.

When trying the above with utorrent there are no leaks.
Even the windows version of Transmission through a VPN does not leak the IP.

I'm running windows 8.

Anyone got any ideas to what is causing this and if it can be fixed. Seems pointless having a built in proxy feature
for it to be pretty much pointless.

Thanks
Cas

Using a proxy is separate to wanting your ip cloaked. There is an 'anonymous_mode' setting you can turn on using ltconfig plugin. The next major release will expose these settings properly in Proxy tab.

Hi,

Can you please elaborate?

In utorrent if I use a proxy (Socks5) my real IP is not leaked.

So once the ltconfig 'anonymous_mode' is enabled. It does appear so stop pushing my real IP out or any IP for that matter.
I should still use a proxy right for IP cloaking?
Other wise how does the ltconfig anonymous mode feature work?

Thanks

EDIT:
BTW, when that anonymous feature is enabled. I cannot get anything to download.

Are you guys saying that deluge in its current state cannot hide your ip even if you are using a vpn/proxy without some sort of custom config?
