0.5.4.1 and 0.5.5 segfault on startup with French locale

It's been reported by two Mandriva users that Deluge 0.5.4.1 and 0.5.5 both segfault immediately on startup when using fr_FR as the locale. Launching with 'LC_ALL=C deluge' works okay. The trace produced is here:

(sorry for the odd wrapping, it came to me that way). My first guess was that fr.po was invalid or incorrect encoding or something, but it *seems* to be a correct UTF-8 file, so I don't think that's it. Anyone have any ideas?
