Hi!
I again have problem why Deluge use 100% my CPU. I noticed that it starts after I run "Open folder" or "Open file" in Deluge interface. I checked and it happens all the time. After I click "Open Folder" or "Open" (file) in GTKUI Deluge load my cpu to 100% (one core). Sorry, I can not myself to solve this problem.
Versions: deluge 1.3.1; libtorrent-rasterbar 0.15.5. My system: ArchLinux x86_64.

ps: sorry for my bad english (=

Edit: Fixed released for pygtk

Yes, this is a problem for a long time .. but I thought it necessary to write about their observations.

Why isn't it in the FAQ as known problem. I had exactly the same problem. Did not know about it. Was not documented (but in the forum).

So, that's the reason why Deluge suddenly become a resource hog, because I access a directory from the GUI.

This is not something for the FAQ however i will sticky this thread.

Relevant tickets:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... bug/706521
If you dig deeper you will find that this was fixed late in February 2011 in PyGTK 2.23.2, so this probably won't see this fixed in Ubuntu until 11.10 at the earliest. (unless recent PyGTK 2.23+ gets backported.)

There is a patch now available and will be fixed in pygtk 2.24.

Now fixed in Ubuntu Natty (Bug 664920)

May be backported to Maverick and Lucid but in the meantime there are patched debs available.

An example of install for Ubuntu Maverick 64-bit

Download these two files:
  • python-glade2_2.21.0-1ubuntu1_amd64.deb
    python-gtk2_2.21.0-1ubuntu1_amd64.deb
You will then need to install both files simultaneously with dpkg:

Code: Select all

sudo dpkg -i python-glade2_2.21.0-1ubuntu1_amd64.deb python-gtk2_2.21.0-1ubuntu1_amd64.deb

Hi, cas. I'm using deluge 1.3.6, and I got this problem too(deluge hangs a while when the speed is very fast, cause cpu usage to 100%)
I don't know if this patch is still useful. But I can't find python-gtk2_2.21.0-1ubuntu1_amd64.deb on the patch link you gave.
