Not sure I am seeing the PPA useful for those of us who upgrade with each *buntu release. As mentioned earlier in the thread, quantal users used to get a 404 for the longest time, and now on raring, it is back to the same issue.Would it be possible to put a meta-data package in there pointing to the canonical sources so we can keep the PPA active and avoid ugly 404 errors when using apt-get update.

This is by design for Launchpad (relevant bug report)

You should really only re-enable PPAs, after upgrading the distro, for those repositories you know contain updated versions.

I can't seem to find the right way of upgrading from 1.3.3 to 1.3.6/libtorrent 16
I've added the ppa but it keeps insisting that both deluge & libtorrent are the newest version available.. which it reports is 1.3.3 & 15..

I've added these:

Code: Select all

## Deluge
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/deluge-team/ppa/ubuntu precise main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/deluge-team/ppa/ubuntu precise main

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/surfernsk/internet-software/ubuntu precise main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/surfernsk/internet-software/ubuntu precise main

deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/deluge-team/ppa/ubuntu maverick main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/deluge-team/ppa/ubuntu maverick main

in some wild attempt to upgrade.. but still no joy.. what am I missing?

This is on debian wheezy

For a start you should not have both maverick and precise repos added. Are you using a raspberry pi?

hi

I've removed the offending ppa's.. :)

I'm running deluge on a Synology ds412..
to make deluge work I've added a debian wheezy chroot on top of the Synology.. so it's a bit non-standard I know..
But that shouldn't affect updating though..
It's probably me not knowing much about linux and ppa stuff..

any advice will be appreciated..

Are you planning to make 1.3.7 available through the PPA?

Ubuntu Trusty is an LTS release... Would you be able to add it to the PPA?

It should also be noted that Trusty's regular repo contains libtorrent-rasterbar7 (0.16.13) already.
