1.1.0_RC2: blocklist not working
I've just installed 1.1.0_RC2 on Ubuntu 8.10. The blocklist plugin is not working. Any info/ideas?
Re: 1.1.0_RC2: blocklist not working
What about it isn't working? Can you paste some debug output from the daemon?newton wrote:I've just installed 1.1.0_RC2 on Ubuntu 8.10. The blocklist plugin is not working. Any info/ideas?

It looks like the activity, or type of blocklist may need to be addressed... Already we can not search on blocklist - i like the software, will update when the port is available for my 64-bit linux
The link in my older version of the programs still suggest using a file that is apparently no-longer available!

Download and import various IP blocklists.
Currently this plugin can handle PeerGuardian (binary and text),
SafePeer and Emule lists. PeerGuardian 7zip format files are not
supported. Files may be specified as URLs or locations on the local
filesystem.
A page with pointer to blocklist download sites is available on the
wiki:
http://dev.deluge-torrent.org/wiki/BlocklistPlugin <---- Only pipfilter.dat.gz on this page, there is no links for PeerGuardian (binary and text), or a working SafePeer.
The link from deluge-torrent.org is no-longer the correct file as i posted in Plugin section - also below my post there is a PeerGuardian blocklist link question...
Any assistance would be appreciated

Re: 1.1.0_RC2: blocklist not working
Well at the time, and for the next day, selecting "force download an import" would quickly flash a progress bar but the status bar in the main window would indicate no IPs were blocked.andar wrote:newton wrote:What about it isn't working? Can you paste some debug output from the daemon?
Now, after a few days, it seems to be working. The problem must have been the list itself on the deluge site, rather than the program.
Re: 1.1.0_RC2: blocklist not working
Correct. An error was identified with the actual blocklist files being uploaded and it has been rectified.newton wrote:Well at the time, and for the next day, selecting "force download an import" would quickly flash a progress bar but the status bar in the main window would indicate no IPs were blocked.andar wrote:newton wrote:What about it isn't working? Re: 1.1.0_RC2: blocklist not working
Does that mean I should wait a few days to use deluge??? Just kidding. This thread isn't dead yet when it comes to ubuntu and the blocklist importer.
Looks like this thread doesn't help me either with the latest release not importing the blocklist. It downloads it fine then sits there with the progress bar going back and forth saying "Importing" but it's apparently not importing anything.
Used the default settings and list source http://list.iblocklist.com/?list=bt_level1
Package installed
deluge-torrent_1.0.99+1.1.0RC-2_amd64.hardy.deb
Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy 64 bit
1.25 GB RAM
Any fix for this? 55 minutes and still Importing 0

Re: 1.1.0_RC2: blocklist not working
You could try this modified egg file... worked for me, I assume it will also be in the next version. http://deluge-torrent.org/Blocklist-1.0-py2.5.egg2hot6ft2 wrote:Does that mean I should wait a few days to use deluge??? Re: 1.1.0_RC2: blocklist not working
Thanks, I'll give it a try just as soon as someone tells me what to do with it. I don't see a readme in it and I'm new enough to linux that this would be the first egg it's had...loki wrote: You could try this modified egg file... worked for me, I assume it will also be in the next version. http://deluge-torrent.org/Blocklist-1.0-py2.5.egg

Just looking for the answer to fix deluge since I like it better than the other torrent programs.
Re: 1.1.0_RC2: blocklist not working
to install the .egg go to Preferences->Plugins select install and point to the downloaded egg
Re: 1.1.0_RC2: blocklist not working
Thanks. It worked. I changed the type to "PeerGuaedian Text (Gzip)" and it worked fine. And that's not a typo on my part it actually says "PeerGuaedian Text (Gzip)".danii wrote:to install the .egg go to Preferences->Plugins select install and point to the downloaded egg
Thanks again for the help, now I can use my favorite torrent app again.
