Can't connect to any host

Deluge Version - 1.3.6
Operating System Version OSX 10.8.4
Running from deluge.app

I'm trying to set up couchpotato with deluge and need to enter my host details (usually localhost:58846)

I am no expert, but i assume i need to start the daemon with the connection editor. The problem is no matter what I try I just cannot connect to any daemon - status is always red and i get the error "Connection to daemon at 127.0.0.1:58846 failed: Connection was refused by other side: 61: Connection refused."

I would be incredibly grateful if someone could help. I've been struggling with this all day. Does this work in osx 10.8?
