WebUI SSL Certificate

Post by MoZz »

Hello Forum.

I have installed Deluge 1.3.15 on my server, and i have activated WebUI from the Plugin list, and both "Web Interface" and "SSL" is active.
When i have SSL active, it gives me an error, that says the connection is not safe, and i can choose to continue if i would like.

On my server its the same with crome or if i use IE browser.

I have tryed reinstalling Deluge couple of times, i read that this error means my certificates is old? - so i had to renew them (reinstall)
That did nothing.

- In the end, i just want a secure line, is it secure without SSL?
- Should i leave it on, and just accept these errors, does they matter?
- Is there an way to create my own certificates for windows server 2016, without paying big bucks or getting scammed?

Hope there is a person here, who is willing to help me out.

Best regards
M.

What you are seeing is normal.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Self-signed_certificate

They are used everywhere, almost everything that has a ssl web interface (home routers, switches, etc), uses one.
If you want to use a certificate, that is signed by a root certificate authority, try finding them online, they are not that expensive.

Using letsencrypt is not worth it just for deluge web interface.
