tray icon blinking

i have configured deluge to show a pop up upon torrent download completion. im trying to make it behave like your common bittorrent client, when a info bubble appear when a torrent finishes. but it is blinking on tray icon, not necessarily at torrent completion but at random times, and the pop up is not showing up. help?
