Yes, that's what I did, as far as I can tell. I uninstalled Deluge, made sure the appplication directory c:\program files (x86)\Deluge was gone, and also deleted the Deluge directory in my user profile. When I re-installed Deluge, all settings were back to default.

Exactly the same symptoms. Actually, my real, everyday configuration IS thin client mode (with a Deluge daemon running on a virtualized Windows 2012R2 server). But for the sake of keeping things simple for troubleshooting, I replaced that temporarily with a clean, standard install.

I beg your pardon, but why is that relevant information? Like I wrote before, I completely uninstalled my "normal" Deluge installation, and replaced it with a simple, clean, default install with the client in classic mode. I did this in order to keep things simple and to rule out the possibility that the remote daemon was the cause of the problem. It turns out I have this problem in classic mode as well as in thinclient mode.

The log I posted earlier is, I think, exactly what you asked for: from a completely clean config (installed just minutes earlier), running in default, classic mode. If there are any other logs you could use for troubleshooting I'd be happy to provide them.

Whether this is the UI or daemon part is very relevant to know where to look into this issue so running in classic mode does not narrow this down... So is the Deluge GTK UI slow to startup without even connecting to the daemon?

OK I understand. I've just now tested with Deluge running in daemon mode, with a local daemon. Same slow startup times, same long pauses in the log. All the delay is happening before the UI connects to the daemon. It takes ages for the Connection Manager to appear, but once that appears, everything is fine.
