Windows XP: Visual C++ Runtime Error R6034

I regularly use deluge on my Ubuntu machine. I would love to use it on my Windows XP laptop but attempts about a year ago and again today have been unsuccessful. After installing and attempting to run version 1.3.3 I get the error:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
Program: C:\Program Files\Deluge\deluge.exe
R6034
An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
I have seen several threads on this issue (from 2007-2009) but could not find many solutions and none that have worked for me.

Is this error caused by something within the deluge application? Or is this error caused by something specific to the setup on my machine?

Does anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this problem?

I have attempted to run the open source registry cleaner (http://sourceforge.net/projects/littlecleaner/) and rebooted the machine, but this has not solved the problem. Any ideas welcome.

Thanks,
Ken

Have you got all the latest updates for Windows XP including service pack 3?

Have you installed MSVC++ 2008 Redist Package: http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/de ... g=en&id=29

Yes, I am running SP3 and already had the package above installed. I ran a repair installation on the package but I am still getting a runtime error. Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Ken

Hi Cas,
Thanks again for the link. I read the post you referenced but am not really sure what to do in my particular case. I have a screenshot if it helps you offer a further step/suggestion.

What is the location of msvcr80.dll? did you try creating a copy then deleting it?

If you right-click on columns header you can select Path option to make it easier to see the paths.

Sorry for the delay in my reply. I don't seem to get email updates even though I am subscribed to the thread.

Anyway, to answer the question, does the following provide any clues?

Hi,
Any chance you have further ideas on this problem?
Thanks.

By "further ideas" I meant that I am getting a Runtime Error every time I try to run Deluge. You gave some suggestions on how I might attempt to locate/fix the problem. I have posted some additional info and am wondering whether that gives you any clues on how to proceed next?
