Question about multiple trackers

Post by delugefan »

Hi

I have been using an old version of Deluge but I see that it now has an editable list of trackers -- that's great! Thanks.

However I have a question. I have added in some extra channels to the few that were already there. But when I select the torrent in the download list, under "Tracker" under "Torrent Info" it only shows the URL of one tracker.

Does Deluge use all the trackers in the list, or does it only go through them when trackers are down?

This is on the latest 0.5.8.

Thanks very much for an excellent program.

glad you like it, thanks :)
in torrent info, we show the tracker currently in use (we only use one tracker per torrent at a time). if one tracker isnt responding, we move down the list to the next one, and so forth. we do this because it's according to how the bittorent protocol mandates...other clients (utorrent, fucking ass holes), do not. multiple tracker support has always been to balance between trackers, not to suck from multiple trackers. here's the spec for more info: http://www.bittornado.com/docs/multitracker-spec.txt
and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BitTorrent#Multitracker and here's some text about announcing to all trackers and why that should not happen http://wiki.depthstrike.com/index.php/P ... ounce-list
