Re: deluge-web.service: Deactivated successfully

thank you for the replies. I am a bit confused now, because even on a new and fresh installation, the -d parameter is missing in the file /etc/systemd/system/deluge-web.service. if this is a know solution for the problem, I would expect that this would be in the installation package by default anywa...

[solved] deluge-web.service: Deactivated successfully

Before, my Debian server was running on Debian 10 - Buster. So, about time to update to Debian 11 - Bullseye and than further to Debian 12 - Bookworm. Everything running fine, except Deluge. I removed, purged and re-installed deluged and deluge-web. That did not help at all. The version of deluged a...

Update from 1.13.5 to 2.0.3 on Debian 10 - Buster

my machine is running on Debian 10 - Buster. in the Debian repositories there is Deluge version 1.13.5 this applies to the normal repo, but also for updates and back-ports however there now is version 2.0.3 looking at Debian Package Tracker, it seems the latest version is in a different folder, whic...

Re: how to stop from deluge from loading at boot

my machine runs headless.
the communication with my machine is usually over ssh.
I can also get to it with xrdp, but this is done very rarely.
so, the software that I have to look at, is done with a web-gui over port 8112 for Deluge.
and there you get a password question.

Re: how to stop from deluge from loading at boot

yeah, I was pulling at the wrong end of the stick.
so, now they are both disabled and I can start the show by starting deluge-web.

when using Deluge, I always use the GUI as well.
any chance of loosing the password for the GUI ??

Re: how to stop from deluge from loading at boot

I don't use Deluge very often.
so when I reboot, I would stop deluged manually.
I did try to modify /etc/systemd/system/deluge-web.service before, but did not know I had to run "sudo systemctl daemon-reload" afterwards.
again, thank you :)

Re: how to stop from deluge from loading at boot

sorry to come back on this.

is there an easy way to avoid this dependency ??
I tried to edit /etc/systemd/system/deluge-web.service, but that did not help much :)

Torrent-files are not deleted, but made hidden

before my present machine, I was using a Raspberry Pi 3B, with Raspbian Lite. to begin with, this was Jessie, later upgraded to Stretch. when downloading files with Deluge, the torrent-files were placed in a special folder, being watched by Deluge. once detected and handled, these torrent-files were...
