bandwidth unit

on my deluge 1.3.12 /win 8.1, the bw unit is KiB/s and I think it's not appropriate: binary multiple has its utility for storage and not in bw. For instance, Ethernet bw is 10Mb/s 100Mb/s 1Gb/s. Fddi is 100Mb/s, oc3 is 155Mb/s. Ny isp gives me 12Mb/s and would love to sell 100Mb/s and even file size...

not clear why the chosen unit is base 2 (MIB/s etc) and not base 10 (MB/s) The MI/KI are for storage and not for transmission. Transmission has always been base 10 e.g 10Mb/s 100Mb/s 1Gb/s ethernet etc 100kb/s fddi etc. My contract with the ISP is 12Mb/s it was 5Mb/s and when i get rich, will be 100...
